Eldora Speedway begins Four Crown Nationals with World of Outlaw Sprint Cars, Eldora Stock Cars

ROSSBURG – Eldora Speedway kicked off the 35th annual Four Crown Nationals on Friday with the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars and the Eldora Stock Cars.

Racing began with the Outlaw Sprint Cars with four heat races consisting of eight laps each.

In heat race one taking the black and white checkered was the 5 of David Grave, following in second was Shane Stewart with the 2 car, third was the 83 of Joey Saldana, fourth was the 10H of Chad Kemenah and rounding out the top five was the 7C of Caleb Armstrong.

For heat two the winner was the 1S of Logan Schuchart, in second was the 18 of Ian Madsen, third was 7S of Jason Sides, in fourth was the 41 of Jason Johnson and in fifth was the 19P of Paige Polyak.

The 17W of Kerry Madsen won heat three, in second was the 1ST of Gary Taylor, in third was the 1A of Jacob Allen, fourth was the 7 of Paul McMahan and in fifth was the 11K of Kraig Kinser.

The 15 of Donny Schatz was followed by the 9 of Daryn Pittman in second, the 49X of Tim Shaffer in third, the 35 of Jac Haudenschild in fourth and the 49 of Brad Sweet in fifth for heat four.

The 9 of Daryn Pittman in the 9 won the dash, which was six laps. In second was the 15 of Donny Schatz, in third was the 18 of Ian Madsen, in fourth was the 1S of Logan Schuchart and in fifth was the 2 of Shane Stewart.

The C Feature was 10 laps with the 20N of Hunter Schuerenberg taking the black and white checkered. In second was the 59 of Ben Schmidt, third went to the 13 of Clyde Knipp, fourth was the 07 of Jacob Wilson and in fifth was the 8M of TJ Michael.

The B Feature, which was 12 laps, went to 20W of Greg Wilson, followed by the 93 of Sheldon Haudenschild, the 1B of Dale Blaney, the 23C of Tyler Courtney and the 21C of Cap Henry.

The 2 of Shane Stewart took the A Feature, which was 30 laps. In second was the 1S of Logan Schuchart, third was the 9 of Daryn Pittman, fourth was the 15 of Donny Schatz and in fifth was the 5 of David Gravel.

Next action turned to the Eldora Stock Cars, which included three heat races of eight laps each and then finished with the 15-lap A Feature.

In heat race one taking the black and white checkered was the 71C of Barney Craig, in second was the 5G of Anthony Goode, third went to the 67W of Andy Welch, fourth was the 11 of T.J Smith and fifth was the5T of Dwayne Treon.

In heat race two the winner was the 01 of Earnie Woodard, in second the 410 of Paul Pardo, in third was the 82 of Chris Douglas, fourth was the 69 of Rob Trent and in fifth was the 55 of Brandon Archey.

In heat race three the winner was 7 of Jordan Conover, in second was 99J of Donnie Jeschke, in third was 27 of Frank Paladino, fourth was. 91 of Ed Hounshell and in fifth was the 23 of Casey Barr.

In the A Feature taking first was the 69 of Rob Trent, in second was 71C of Barney Craig, third went to the 27 of Frank Paladino, fourth was the 82 of Chris Douglas and fifth was the 01 of Earnie Woodard. Trent started 11th and came all the way to the front to take home first place. Trent led the final five laps and won him the championship title for the 2016 racing season.
