Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team defeats Fairlawn

SIDNEY – The Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team beat Fairlawn 42-40 on Tuesday for its first win of the season.

Mississinawa Valley trailed 13-7 through one quarter and 23-12 at halftime. The Blackhawks cut their deficit to 30-24 in the third quarter and came back to win 42-40.

Mississinawa Valley’s Mikayla Stump led all scorers with 19 points in the victory. Also for the Lady Hawks, Sidnie Hunt scored 11 points, Madison Stachler scored six, Kelsie Hunt scored three, Kya Lavy scored two, and Bailey Johnson scored one.

McCalla Huelskamp led Fairlawn with 11 points while Lauren Dudgeon scored 10 points.
