COLUMBUS – Versailles senior Jacob Wenig earned second team all-state recognition with his individual score on Saturday at the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II boys bowling tournament.

Wenig rolled games of 224, 245 and 160 for a 629 series on Saturday at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl in Columbus.

Wenig has worked hard over the years and kept a positive attitude, Coach Tyler Phlipot said. His determination to improve has reflected in his average for the year, which was 193.

“It is nice to see a bowler who has worked so hard and remained a strong foundation for our team recognized at the state tournament,” Coach Phlipot said. “He is deserving of the recognition, and he will be missed in the years to come.”
