Greenville boys tennis team beats Vandalia-Butler

GREENVILLE – The Greenville boys tennis team beat Vandalia-Butler 4-0 in a Greater Western Ohio Conference match on Thursday.

In the first doubles match Greenville’s Austin Grote and Josh Smith beat Ross Fike and Leland Skapik 7-5, 6-3. In second doubles the Green Wave’s Aaron Lobenstein and Josh Galloway beat Jones Kanak and Jeremy Midlam 6-3, 6-0.

In second singles Greenville’s Craig Manges beat Troy Luken 6-0, 6-0. In the third singles match the Wave’s Branson Leigeber beat Riley Dunaway 6-1, 6-3.

Rain caused the first singles match between Greenville’s Noah Haupt and Butler’s Brandon Kreger to go unfinished. Haupt won the first set 7-5, lost the second set 3-6 and trailed 3-5 in the third set.

Greenville improved to 11-3 with the win while Butler fell to 5-4.
