Franklin Monroe baseball team beats Arcanum at Fifth Third Field

DAYTON – Franklin Monroe run ruled Arcanum 13-0 in a non-conference baseball game on Friday at Fifth Third Field in Dayton.

Franklin Monroe scored one run in the first inning, one in the second, one in the third and then exploded for 10 runs in the fourth inning.

Franklin Monroe out-out Arcanum 11 to three. Both teams committed one error.

FM’s Bryce Filbrun went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Logan Ressler was 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk, two runs and four RBI. Zach Cable went 1-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Levi Altic was 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Timothy Lawson was 1-for-2, was hit by a pitch, stole a base and scored two runs for FM. Trevor Collins was 1-for-3, was hit by a pitch, walked, scored a run and drove in a run. Jeremy Bridenbaughwas 1-for-2 with a walk, a RBI and a run. Noah Koffer was 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run. Cade McGlinch went 1-for-3.

Arcanum’s Evan Atchley, Cambell Gostomsky and Kaleb Shilt each went 1-for-2.

McGlinch pitched the complete game for Franklin Monroe, allowing no runs on three hits, no walks and four strikeouts.

Steve Vanatta was the losing pitcher for Arcanum as he pitched three innings and allowed four earned runs and one unearned run on four hits, one walk and two hit batters. Austin Smith pitched 1/3 of an inning, allowing five earned runs on two hits, three walks and one strikeout. Shilt went 2/3 of an inning, allowing three earned runs on five hits and no walks.
