Tri-Village softball team run rules Mississinawa Valley

UNION CITY – Tri-Village run ruled Mississinawa Valley 19-6 in five innings of Cross County Conference softball on Thursday.

Tri-Village took a quick 6-0 lead in the top half of the first inning. After Mississinawa scored one run in the bottom half of the inning, Tri-Village added 12 in the second and one in the third to lead 19-1. MV scored the game’s final five runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Tri-Village’s Kloey Murphey was 4-for-4 with a home run, a stolen base, three runs and three RBI. Allie Downing was 3-for-3 with a double, two stolen bases, two RBI and three runs. Trisa Porter was 2-for-3 with a home run, a triple, two runs and three RBI. Shelby Frech was 2-for-2 with a home run, a double, two runs and three RBI.

Shelby Holzapfel was 2-for-4 and scored two runs for Tri-Village. Payge Malott went 1-for-1 with a double, two walks, two runs and two RBI. Andi Bietry was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs. Rachel Miller was 1-for-3 and scored a run.

Taylor Bowles pitched the complete game for Tri-Village, allowing five earned runs and one unearned run while striking out three.

Mississinawa Valley’s Lupe Arrona was 2-for-2 with a RBI and a run. Bailey Johnson went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Paxton Scholl was 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run. Kinsie Blocher was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run. Jolie Elson was 1-for-1 with a walk and a RBI. Taydem Elson was 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run. Makayla Coning and Lindsay Johns both went 1-for-3 and scored a run.

Scholl pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed 14 runs while striking out one. Taydem Elson pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed five runs.
