FM volleyball wins CCC Invitational championship

BRADFORD – The Franklin Monroe volleyball team beat Arcanum in three sets, 25-16, 23-25, 25-23, to win the championship in the Cross County Conference Invitational on Saturday.

Morgan Booher led Franklin Monroe with 11 kills in the championship match. Shania Baker added eight kills, and Sydney Bowser had six.

Morgan Booher also had 14 assists, and Carrie Baker added 12. Sydney Bowser and Morgan Booher led the team in digs with 11 apiece. Makenzie Kreitzer had 10 digs, and Carrie Baker and Kelly Fourman added seven digs each.

Shai Robinson had eight kills in the championship match for Arcanum, and Stevie Johnting added seven.

Michaela McGaffic and Rebecca Deao both had four blocks for Arcanum.

Brittany Kinney led Arcanum with 15 digs while Shai Robinson had 12 and Emily Miller had 12. Brittany Kinney also led Arcanum with 15 assists.

To get to the championship match Franklin Monroe started out with a 21-25, 25-22, 25-19 win against Newton.

Morgan Booher led the team with 12 kills, eight assists, four blocks and three aces. Carrie Baker had 13 assists, three kills and one ace. Makenzie Kreitzer had 12 digs and two kills. Sydney Bowser, Emilee Morris and Kelly Fourman all had six digs each.

Franklin Monroe then beat Ansonia 25-23, 27-25 in the semifinals.

Carrie Baker had nine assists, four kills and six digs. Morgan Booher had 14 kills, 11 assists and five aces. Emilee Morris and Makenzie Kreitzer both had five digs.
