Franklin Monroe soccer teams earn home games in OHSAA tournaments

DARKE COUNTY – The Franklin Monroe boys and girls soccer teams both earned home games in the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association postseason tournaments.

The Franklin Monroe boys (9-4-0) earned the No. 3 seed in the Division III Dayton sectionals and will play host to No. 27 Southeastern (0-12-0) at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 in the first round of the tournament. A win would allow the Jets to advance to the second round where they would play host to No. 25 Tri-County North (2-10-1) at 7 p.m. Oct. 24.

The Franklin Monroe girls (5-7-1) earned the No. 9 seed in the Southwest District’s Division III middle sectional and will play host to No. 16 Yellow Springs (1-13-0) at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 in the opening round of the playoffs. A win would allow the Lady Jets to advance and play at No. 4 Preble Shawnee (9-4-1) at 7 p.m. Oct. 22.

The Greenville girls (0-12-0) earned the No. 13 seed in the Division II Dayton sectional and will play at No. 5 Oakwood (10-3-2) in the first round of the playoffs. A win would allow the Lady Wave to advance and play either No. 7 Valley View (8-5-2) or No. 11 Stivers (4-7-2) at 7 p.m. Oct. 22.

The Greenville boys (6-7-1) earned the No. 16 seed in the Division I Dayton sectional and will play at top-seeded Beavercreek (10-1-3) at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 in the first round of the postseason. A win would allow the Green Wave to advance and play host to No. 19 West Carrollton (2-12-0) at 7 p.m. Oct. 24.
