Versailles girls basketball team loses to Tippecanoe

VERSAILLES – The Versailles girls basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday, falling 54-48 to Tippecanoe.

Tippecanoe jumped out to a 15-10 first quarter lead and led 27-19 at halftime. The teams played even in the third quarter as the score stood at 34-26. Versailles outscored Tipp in the fourth quarter but couldn’t overcome the deficit, losing by six points.

Danielle Winner led Versailles with a game-high 17 points in the loss. Also for the Lady Tigers, Kami McEldowney scored 10 points, Kristin Langston scored six, Lauren Monnin scored six, Kami Ording scored five, and Camille Watren scored four.

Versailles is now 2-1 on the season.
