Bethel beats Bradford girls basketball team in final seconds

BRADFORD – Bethel hit the game-winning basket with just 15 seconds left to beat the Bradford girls basketball team 30-29 in Cross County Conference action on Tuesday.

Bradford jumped out to a 12-6 first quarter lead and led 22-18 at halftime. The Railroaders extended their lead to 26-20 in the third quarter, but the Bees outscored them 10-3 in the fourth quarter for the 30-29 final score.

Mandi Bates led Bradford with 12 points in the loss. Also for the Railroaders, Mackenzie Weldy scored eight points, Chelsea Gill scored three, Ally Book scored two, Olivia Hart scored two, and Bailey Wysong scored two.

Bradford fell to 1-2 on the season with the loss.
