SPRINGFIELD — Larry E. Cooley, 65, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, March 4, 2017. He was born in Richmond, Indiana, on July 14, 1951, the son of the late A. Eugene and Monnodale (Mills) Cooley.

He was a graduate of Versailles High School and ITT Tech. Larry enjoyed old-school architectural drafting. He was a member of the Masonic Order, Scottish Rite, Eagles, and the Union Club.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen S. (Rusk) Cooley; two daughters, Sara Cooley (Kristin Halliday) of Fairborn and Evan (Mark) Warner of Springfield; three grandchildren, Noah and Luka Warner and Landen Cooley-Halliday; a brother and nephew, Steve Cooley and Ryan Cooley of Versailles.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis W. Cooley.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home. A celebration of Larry’s life will immediately follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Steven Fewell officiating. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison, Ohio.
