Darke County Sheriff Deputies, Randolph County Sheriff Deputies, and Randolph County Fire & EMS responded to the scene.

UNION CITY — On May 13, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Darke County Deputies, Randolph County Deputies, Randolph County Fire & EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Ohio-Indiana State Line Road and Lawrence Road, Union City, Ohio 45390 in reference to an accident with injury.

Prior to the deputies’ arrival, the driver left the scene but a short time later he was located and transported to Mercer County Community Hospital for his injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed a maroon 2003 Honda Odyssey, driven by Kurtis Fisher, 22, of Fort Recovery, was traveling north on Ohio-Indiana State Line Road south of Lawrence Road. Fisher went off the right side of the roadway before over-correcting back onto the roadway causing Fisher to lose control of the vehicle. Fisher went back off the roadway to the right and rolled an unknown number of times before hitting a tree stump and coming to rest.

The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
