VERSAILLES — Callie’s Giving Heart Foundation is thrilled to announce the third annual pool party, scheduled for Saturday, July 27, at the Versailles Community Pool, 448 Woodland Drive, Versailles, from 5-8 p.m. This beloved event is free to the community and aims to celebrate community support while raising awareness for congenital heart defects (CHD).

Founded in 2022 by Cameron and Kristen Ruffer, Callie’s Giving Heart Foundation honors the memory of their daughter, Callie, who bravely battled Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) before passing away in 2021. The foundation supports CHD families by providing financial assistance, funding research, and promoting education about CHD.

“We started this event to express our gratitude to the community for their unwavering support during Callie’s journey and beyond,” said Kristen Ruffer, co-founder of Callie’s Giving Heart Foundation. “It’s about bringing families together in a time of division and raising awareness for a cause that remains close to our hearts.”

The pool party, now in its third year, promises an evening of fun-filled activities for all ages. Highlights include live music by Seth Canan, a diving board competition, Kona Ice treats, and a silent auction featuring various donated baskets. Food will be available, and guests are invited to mingle, learn about CHDs, and enjoy the community atmosphere.

Dr. Tim Nelson, CEO and Co-Founder of HeartWorks, emphasized the importance of events like Callie’s Giving Heart Foundation Pool Party: “Raising awareness about congenital heart defects is crucial. Events like these not only support affected families but also educate the community about these conditions, ultimately fostering greater empathy and understanding that lead to building a larger team of teams working together for a cure.”

The event is open to the public free of charge, with no pressure to donate. Attendees are encouraged to join in celebrating Callie’s legacy and the spirit of community support that continues to drive the foundation’s mission.

The event will include live music, diving board competition, silent auction, food, Kona Ice, and more.
