Greenville boys and girls golf compete in close MVL matches

GREENVILLE — The Greenville boys and girls golf teams competed in league matches on August 28.

The Greenville Lady Wave Golfers hosted the Piqua girls golf team at Turtle Creek Golf Course. The Lady Wave lost 204-205.

The Lady Wave were led by Vera Cox with a 41, Sofia Chrisman with a 51, Taylor Trissel with a 56 and Callee Moore with a 57. Also playing for the Lady Wave were Kennedy Schoen with a 67 and Ava Good with a 72.

The Piqua girls were led by Aubree Carroll with a 47, Emery Kuhlman with a 49, and Izzy Thoma and Kaylie Hittle both with a 54. Also playing were Jenna Snyder with a 55 and Bethany Howard with a 63.

“This was a tough loss on our home course. We need to work on our approach shots and putting,” head coach Tracy Haines said.

The Lady Wave golf team is 3-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

The boys team won 175-180 over Stebbins at Locust Hills Golf Course.

Carson Good and Brody Weaver both had a 43. Drew Beisner shot a 44 and Hayden Null shot a 45. Chilly Jasenski scored a 49 and Cole Oswalt scored a 56.

For Stebbins, Braden Powers led with a 38. Davis Blanton had a 44 while Isaiah Goble and Liam Simpson both had a 49. Jonah Dahlin had a 52 and Jayce Dill had a 65.

The boys team will host West Carrollton next on September 3 at 4 p.m. The girls team will head to Miami Shores Golf Course on September 5 to take on Troy.
