AES Ohio upgrades to new customer system

DAYTON — AES Ohio has launched a system upgrade to better serve customers beginning the evening of Aug. 28. This initiative, part of the utility’s ongoing efforts to modernize its infrastructure, aims to improve the efficiency of customer interactions and overall service delivery.

The upgrade will replace a 25-year-old customer information system. This change is expected to streamline various processes, making it easier for customers to manage their accounts and for AES Ohio to address service needs more effectively.

During the upgrade period, which runs until September 4, some service features will be temporarily unavailable. Customers will not be able to make online or phone payments during this time, though in-person payments at authorized locations will still be accepted. It’s important to note that these payments will be processed once the upgrade is complete.

Among the key changes customers will notice are a redesigned bill layout and the introduction of a new 12-digit account number. The new bill design has been developed with a focus on customer convenience.

Customers with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact AES Ohio’s customer care team at 800-433-8500. For more details about the upgrade and the redesigned bill visit, aesohio.com/smart-upgrade.

This represents an important step in AES Ohio’s efforts to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
