TROY — The Miami Valley Veterans Museum will host a Patriot Day Rememberence Ceremony 9/11. The event will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1 p.m., at the Miami Valley Veterans Museum, 2245 S. County Road 25 A., Troy.

The attacks on September 11th were a coordinated, series of foreign terrorists hijacking civilian aircraft using them for suicide attacks on 3 different locations on US soil. American Airlines flight 11 and United flight 175 were flown into the World Trade Center’s north and south towers respectively, killing all aboard and over 2700 civilians, 343 of which were firefighters and rescue workers running towards the danger! American Airlines flight 77 hit the Pentagon, killing all aboard with a total loss of 184 military and civilian lives. United flight 93 crashed into a field outside of Shanksville, Pa. while the civilian passengers aboard attempted to retake control, stopping the airplane’s flight path towards Washington DC saving countless more lives. The target is widely believed to have been the U.S. Capitol Building.

The Sept. 11th attacks were the deadliest terror attack on US soil ever. This day launched the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) as declared by U.S. President George W. Bush after 9/11.

The American lives lost on that day are truly unimaginable and should never be forgotten!

The 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony will include honored veterans speaking, a piece of the actual World Trade Center together with the 9/11 memorial display, a swear-in ceremony with new recruits and military in uniform taking and/or administering the Military Oath of Enlistment. Light refreshments will be served.
