Feed Darke County kicks off at Illumination

GREENVILLE — The Illumination Festival on Sept. 21 at the Darke County Fairgrounds also signals the beginning of the Fish Choice Food Pantry’s annual Feed Darke County food drive. The Illumination Festival and Fish Choice Food Pantry have been partnering with each other for all 17 years of the event to kick off the food drive.

Visitors to the fairgrounds that day are encouraged to bring canned and nonperishable food with them to help Feed Darke County. Whether you are coming for the mini food truck rally, to enjoy entertainment in the Coffee House, planning on attending the concert in front of the Grandstand or just want to help, the Illumination Committee asks that you bring your food items or monetary donation to the front gate where you will se a big gox truck and blue barrels.

Feed Darke County food drive runs through the end of the year and all nonperishables and monetary donations collected will go to The Fish Choice Pantry. Feed Darke County food drive is critical for the pantry with the high cost of food and the rising need in Darke County.

Fish Choice Food Pantry thanks everyone for their support in advance.

You do not need to attend the Illumination Festival in order to donate. Please feel free to stop by and donate even if you are not coming to the concert or taking part in the activities on the fairgrounds that day.

The Illumination Festival will open at noon for the mini food truck rally, activities on the midway and the Coffee House. The concert begins at 5 p.m. Tickets for the concert are available at itickets.com. This year’s featured artists include Matthew West, Tasha Layton, Splat Experience, Caleb & John and He Knows Our Name.
