Friends of DCP offer bread

GREENVILLE — The Darke County Parks will be having a living history encampment at Shawnee Prairie on Sept. 28 and 29, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be no Prairie Days this year, so they are having the living history encampment in its place.

The public is invited to attend this special event. There will be bread making in the Cobb oven that will be available to purchase. This bread is always a hit and continually sells out. They are now offering pre-sale to the public.

The Friends of the Darke County Parks are offering their Rustic Artisan Bread for $8 a loaf. Varieties include Cinnamon/Sugar, Apple/Cinnamon Sugar, Rosemary, Chives/Cheddar Cheese, and Garlic Parmesan. To order, call 937-447-3355.

Additional items will also be available to purchase, including blankets. The Blacksmith Shop will be open, as will the Log House. There will be hawk and knife demonstrations.

Come and enjoy the learning experience you receive from the living history encampment.
