GREENVILLE — The children of Ray and Barbara Lavy, of Greenville, are happy to announce the 70th wedding anniversary of their parents on Sept. 12, 2024. Ray and Barbara met when they were 17, married when 18 at the Bradford Methodist Church, and continue to be sweethearts each day.

Ray is the son of the late Arthur and Edna Lavy. Barbara is the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Smith. Ray retired from farming after 50 years and Barbara was a homemaker. They moved from the homestead farm on Wise Road, Bradford into Greenville City in 2013.

They are the parents of Dixie (Chris) Little of Roswell, GA; Dick (Pam) Lavy of Greenville; and Betsy (Micheal, deceased) Nisonger of Versailles. Ray and Barbara have eight grandsons and one granddaughter, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.

Ray and Barbara’s anniversary celebration began earlier this month and continues daily.
