VERSAILLES — St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church annual Homecoming Celebration will be held Sept. 15, at 2 p.m.

The trustees of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church invites you and your families to the 120th anniversary homecoming celebration of St. Peter’s. They have been °coming home° since the church’s closing in 1904. The church is the last log cabin church in Darke County. The peaceful little church is located on St. Peters Road. St. Peter’s road is off State Route 185, south of Versailles.

The church is complete with its hand built and hand carved altar, pot belly stove, foot pumped organ, high backed wooden choir chairs, handmade pews and storage cabinet. You will also see their hand carved, handmade Klink-Boink. Out back you may visit the two holer/wood shed where the grave digging tools are stored.

Come find peace with God where your ancestors once worshiped. Walk among the graves of those who have gone before, in the peaceful cemetery. Visit with friends, new and old. There will be cookies and punch on the lawn following the service. Bring your lawn chairs and maybe some of your favorite cookies if you like.

Pastor Alliyah Blakeley from St. John, Greenville, will lead the worship.

Organist Karen Lawrence from Trinity, Versailles, will be playing the pump organ. Join them as they sing the old hymns, as they celebrate our God with hymns and praise. See you there.
