Runners hit the trails at Blackhawk Cross Country Invite

GREENVILLE — Mississinawa Valley hosted the Blackhawk Cross Country Invite on September 7 at Chenoweth Trail. Athletes ran up the hills and through the woods as the course took them through most of the woods.

For the boys group, Ansonia sophomore Bennett Lehman took first place with a time of 16:00.1. Ansonia senior Ethan Sparks took third with a time of 18:24.0, Arcanum junior Micah Arbogast took fourth with an 18:38.2 and Mississinawa Valley senior Daniel Hartzell took fifth with an 18:46.7.

For Bradford, sophomore Kyree Roberts took 30th with a time of 22:10.8. Freshmen Brendan Hansen and Eli Hoffman took 31st and 32nd with times of 22:11.7 and 22:15.4 respectfully.

As a team, Ansonia took first place with Arcanum finishing close behind at second. Bradford took sixth place.

For the girls group, Ansonia junior Olivia Creager took second place with a time of 22:53.7. Arcanum freshmen Ella Warren and Brynn Byers took third and fourth with times of 22:55.4 and 23:02.8. Bradford senior Emma Lavey took sixth with a time of 23:28.9, Ansonia sophomore Alexa Kreiner took seventh with a time of 23:37.4, Bradford sophomore Natalie Wood took eighth with a time of 23:46.2 and Bradford sophomore Savannah Beachler took tenth with a time of 24:20.5.

For Mississinawa Valley, freshman Tenlee Woodbury took 13th with a time of 24:57.7. Sophomore Kayaa Mote took 14th with a 25:26.9 and senior Harley Hanes took 16th with a 25:30.9.

As a team, Arcanum took first place with Mississinawa Valley finishing in third place.
