Darke County cross country teams have strong showing under the lights

PIQUA — Greenville, Versailles and Franklin Monroe high school and middle school cross country teams competed in the Piqua Invite Under the Lights on September 7.

The Greenville junior high boys team continued their great start to the season as they took first place in the invite. Versailles took ninth and Franklin Monroe took 18th.

For Greenville, Ryan Rosinski took sixth with a personal best time of 11:27. Brady Hartle was ninth with a PR of 11:46. CT McRill was tenth with a time of 11:48 after setting a PR of 11:22 at the Treaty City Invite. Oliver Weaver was 13th and Conner Price was 23rd with PR’s of 11:50 and 11:58.

For Versailles, Blake Pitsenbarger took fifth with a time of 11:23. Owen Gibson took eighth with a time of 11:33 and Blaize Brandewie took 28th with a time of 12:04. For Franklin Monroe, Levi Heck took 59th with a time of 12:45. Tristen Gilbert took 113rd with a time of 13:47 and James Oswalt took 170th with a 14:56.

For the girls junior high teams, Versailles took first place and Greenville finished in seventh. For Versailles, Blair Schellhase, Laini Simon and Naomi Rahm took sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively. Schellhase finished with a time of 12:45, Simon with a time of 12:46 and Rahm with a time of 12:48. For Greenville, Lydia Force and Akisha Abarquez took 14th and 15th with times of 13:17 and 13:21. Kinsey Fiora took 19th with a PR of 13:22. For Franklin Monroe, Anna Yeomans took third place with a time of 12:33. Ella Eshleman took fifth with a time of 12:43 and Keira Fenstermaker took 42nd with a time of 14:21.

For the high school boys race, Versailles took first place as a team as Franklin Monroe took 20th. For Versailles, Tony Moorman took third with a time of 15:42. Jackson Spitzer took fifth with a 15:44 and Cameron Magoto took 13th with a 16:19. For Franklin Monroe, Sam Haney took 78th with a time of 17:57. Charlie Stull took 82nd with an 18:01 and Vail Cox took 126th with a 19:20.

For the high school girls race, Versailles took third place as a team while Franklin Monroe took 22nd. For Versailles, Ava Rismiller took 15th with a time of 19:55. Lillian Selhorst took 18th with a 20:02 and Gabrielle Spitzer took 22nd with a 20:13. For Franklin Monroe, Stella Fugate took 57th with a time of 21:33. Hannah Wolfe finished 118th with a 23:19 and Mia Brookey took 129th with a 23:29.
