Tri-Village boys golf wins close match over Franklin Monroe

ARCANUM — The Tri-Village boys golf team won a close 174-178 match against Franklin Monroe at Beechwood Golf Course on September 9.

Tri-Village senior Trey Homan led the Patriots with a 37. Senior Wesley Osborne had a 43, freshman Brecken Gray had a 46 and freshman Kohen Burns had a 48. Seniors Ryder Brummett and Cameron Kimmel both shot a 49.

For Franklin Monroe, junior Leo Kinnison led with a 41. Junior Brandt Filbrun had a 42, senior Chase Stebbins had a 46 and sophomore Braden Gilbert had a 49. Sophomore Reed Brumbaugh shot a 52 and senior Trevor Swiger shot a 56.

The regular season is about to come to an end for both teams. Franklin Monroe has their last match of the season on September 10 at 4 p.m. back at Beechwood against Dixie. Tri-Village has matches against Preble Shawnee on September 11, against Ansonia on September 12 and against Twin Valley South on September 17.

After that, both teams will compete in the WOAC Tournament at Richmond Elks on September 19 starting at 8:30 a.m.
