Voting is an important right and duty

Voting is one of the most important rights we, as United States Citizens, have. It is a vital duty that we should fulfill as a citizen. So many countries get no say in who becomes their elected officials. It is a real shame that so many U.S. citizens don’t use this important right! Are you a registered voter? Have you turned 18 years old, recently moved, become a U.S. citizen, or changed your name? Then, you need to either register to vote or update your voter registration. National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 17, 2024, and I am urging all of you to register or update your registration. How do you do this, you might ask? You can register online at olvr.ohiosos.gov or print a mail-in form at this same website, fill it out, and mail to your local election board office. You may also register in person at your local office. You can also check to see if you are registered to vote and make any updates these 3 ways. Early voting in Ohio is October 8 – November 3. You MUST be registered to vote by October 7 to be able to vote in this year’s election. As a long time voter and poll worker, I urge you to register and take advantage of this most vital and important privilege we have!
