NEW WESTON — Eldora Speedway had a historic race weekend on September 5-7. During the 54th World 100, they set the all-time attendance mark on September 7. The biggest crowd the speedway has seen was treated with a race that had lead changes among four different drivers.

Prior to the race on September 7, over 7,500 people attended a celebration of life service for Scott Bloomquist in the morning. Bloomquist was considered by most to be the greatest dirt late model racers of all-time and was one of the greatest drivers and larger than life personalities to ever grace Eldora Speedway. He passed away weeks prior to the World 100 and it was only fitting to celebrate his life at one of the greatest events at the speedway.

Along with the service, the speedway honored Scott with a drone light show and a parade lap featuring two of his most famous cars making one last honorary lap around the track.
