at 25 locations across Ohio and Kentucky

PIQUA — McDonald’s restaurants across Mid-West Ohio and Eastern Kentucky are celebrating 50 years of ownership.

After 11 years of operating three college bars in Toledo, Ben and Louise Scott applied for a McDonald’s franchise, opening their first restaurant in Piqua in 1974. By 1993, they owned seveb locations, and Ben Sr. and Louise participated in many milestone store openings, including those in Toronto, Washington DC, and Hong Kong. For the past 30 years their son Benny and his wife Stacy have been running the organization, which now runs 25 locations throughout Ohio and Kentucky. The Scott Family McDonald’s employ nearly 1,800 individuals across all locations.

In 2021 Stacy and Benny received the highest award that can be given to McDonald’s owners and operators, The Fred L. Turner Golden Arch Award. The Award is presented biennially at the McDonald’s Worldwide Convention to franchisees who deliver a superior experience for their customers, ensure a positive experience for their employees and passionately give back to their communities.

“We are honored to be a part of these communities for over half a century now,” said Benny Scott. “None of this would have been possible without our loyal customers. Their support has been the cornerstone of our success, and we are incredibly grateful for the countless memories we’ve shared over the years.”

The Scott Family has always been dedicated to supporting basic needs of food, shelter and clothing, and giving to organizations that provide these services.

“We are big supporters of the schools, community events, Pink Ribbon Good, our local Catholic Parish and of course the Ronald McDonald’s House Charities,” said Stacy. “One of our values is to be generous. Annually we contribute over $250,000 dollars to the communities where our employees live and work and the communities they serve.”

The organization celebrated their 50th anniversary with a surprise party at the Piqua Country Club with their leaderships team, friends and family.

In addition to Piqua in Ohio Scott Family McDonald’s operates restaurants in Bellefontaine, Dayton, Fairborn, Greenville, Huber Heights, Sidney, Tipp City, and Troy. In Kentucky, the organization operates restaurants in Cynthiana, Jackson, Morehead, Mt. Sterling, Paris, Owingsville, Stanton, and Winchester.
