Team wins county soil judging

VERSAILLES — On Tuesday, Sept. 17 the Versailles FFA participated in the Darke County FFA Soil Judging competition. The Versailles FFA members participating on the Rural Team included Maggie McGlinch, Ben Josie Pothast, Trevor Luthman, Jayna Luthman, Patrick McGlinch, Adam Rauh, Gracie Henry and Gabe McGlinch This team placed first in the county contest, and Patrick McGlinch placed first, Maggie McGlinch placed second and Josie Pothast placed third.

As part of the contest Versailles FFA members evaluated three soil pits, took a written test over their knowledge of soils and related topics and tested over the soil survey related to Darke County. A special thanks to Darke County Soil and Water Conservation for providing the contest and Greg McGlinch for providing the team with a soil practice pit.
