VAPPA presents Night on the Town

VERSAILLES — Make plans to visit downtown Versailles on Saturday, Oct. 12. Great deals begin at 4 p.m. and live music at 6 p.m.. Entertainment is scheduled, Admission is free, and fun is definite. Ten downtown businesses will offer a night of fun and entertainment in Versailles. Visit five of the ten participating businesses and you are eligible for a drawing. C&C Clothez, Blue Willow Boutique, Ivy Court and the NEW Hotel Versailles Holiday Market “Pop Up Shop” will be open 4-7pm with great sales. Food trucks including Holy Smokes BBQ and Crème de la Creme will be there. Versailles will host six musical acts as part of the celebration. Versailles welcomes our neighbors from surrounding communities to the second annual Night on the Towne.

Creekside – Buff Francis will perform 9-11 p.m.. Buff is a Versailles native and has performed with the legendary Eight Ball for decades including recently opening for Tom Keiffer of Cinderella. Come out for a mix of rock, grunge and a few surprises.

Eagles – TommyJohn performs 8-11 p.m. John Subler and Tommy Hoying are TommyJohn. These long-time musicians love playing and entertaining with memorable, nostalgic and crowd-pleasing songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Must be 21 – Open to Non-Members

McBo’s Lanes – Danny Schneible performs 6-9 p.m. Hailing from the great state of Virginia, Danny has been entertaining professionally for 25 years. He performs at festivals, wineries and private events. With his guitar, and a spontaneous set list he covers a wide selection from the 70’s to the 90’s and current hits.

Silas – Josh Taylor performs 7-10 p.m. Josh is the lead guitarist in 127 North, a country band from Celina, Ohio. With this band he has shared the stage with Russell Dickerson, Conner Smith, and Hunter Phelps, as well as playing on Broadway in Nashville, Tenn. Josh’s solo acoustic setlist covers many decades and genres of music, like Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, 3 Doors Down, and Chris Stapleton.

Hotel Versailles will hold a Grand Opening for its Holiday Market Pop Up as part of the Night on the Towne. Hotel Versailles is offering a local option to find gifts, artisan items and dry goods during your busy holiday season. The shop will be located at 19 North Center Street and open 1:00 – 9:00 pm the night of the event. This is your first opportunity to browse products including candles, bedding, toiletries, bread and much more used by the hotel. Get an early start on your holiday shopping.

The Rails of Versailles – Adam Stall performs 7-10 p.m. Adam is an acoustic singer songwriter from Coldwater Ohio. A chemical engineer by day and an entertainer by night. Adam performs an acoustic set of 60’s/70’s covers, along with favorite alternative/country hits. A flexible set that always creates a special evening! He writes his own music and has several singles released. Turtle Island is his full band, which performs a similar style of music, and also has released original music.

Night on the Towne includes a “sneak peek” at The Rails of Versailles. The Rails won’t open until later this year, but owners Ben and Amber Arnett plan to open the doors for entertainment and a preview of the planned renovations. Ben and Amber opened The Bank House in Verona, Ohio in 2022 and are in the process of opening their second restaurant in downtown Versailles. The owners pride themselves in offering extreme quality food which sets their restaurant apart. Part of what makes their food special is locating unique, hard to find ingredients and making many dishes from scratch including their pizza sauce. Most of the items to be offered in Versailles are not currently offered at the Bank House including a few surprises. Stop in and meet the owners and listen to Adam 7-10 p.m.

VFW “The Bunker” – Lauren Rismiller performs 8-11 p.m. Last year Lauren performed one of her first shows during the Night on the Towne and this year she comes back stronger after a year of performing area the area. Come hear this local girl showcase her talent. Must be 21 – Open to Non-Members.

Pick Up a “Passport” at Johns IGA or at any participating business. The night of the event, get the passport stamped at five of the ten business and you’re eligible to win. Your passport can be entered into the drawing 8–10 p.m. at the Village Hall (by the fountain). No need to be present to win. The drawing will offer a variety of prizes including: Blue Willow Boutique, GNB, Johns IGA, Versailles Winery, 21 Barrels, McBo’s, C&C Clothez, Silas, Bowlerstore.com, Prosperity Promotions, Winner’s Meats, Do Good and that Famous VAPPA Lemonade Shake-Ups.

The event is sponsored by King’s Command and Zechar Bailey and presented by the members of the Versailles Area Pride and Progress Association. The Versailles Area Pride & Progress Association was founded in 2018 with the goal of improving the quality of life in the Versailles area.
