Cross country roundup: Lehman sets new record at Coldwater Lions Invite

DARKE COUNTY — Here are the results from the cross country meets from Oct. 5.

Coldwater Lions Invite:

Ansonia sophomore Bennett Lehman rewrote history again as he set the school record with a first place finish with a time of 15:24.71. That time also set the course record that was set by Versailles own Sam Prakel. Ansonia Ethan Sparks took 26th overall with a time of 16:57.6. For Versailles, Jackson Spitzer took third with a time of 15:50.79. Tony Moorman took eighth with a time of 16:11.85 and Zachary Rahm took 11th with a 16:18.39. For Mississinawa Valley, Daniel Hartzell took 19th with an 18:15.75.

For the boys team standings, Versailles took second place and Ansonia took 11th.

On the girls side, Ava Rismiller for Versailles took 11th with a time of 20:13.46. Gabrielle Spitzer took 15th with a time of 20:30.57. For Mississinawa Valley, Taylee Woodbury took 23rd with a time of 20:49.29. Tenlee Woodbury took 69th with a time of 22:25.15. For Ansonia, Olivia Creager took 74th with a 22:33.61 and Alexa Kreiner took 91st with a 22:57.78.

In the team standings, Versailles took third place with Mississinawa Valley finishing in 14th and Ansonia finishing 23rd.

Ed Leas Fall Classic:

The races were divided into two divisions for the varsity races. For the boys in the first division, Greenville finished in fourth place. Owen Marker took fifth place individually with a time of 16:47.8. Karr Hiestand took 17th with a time of 17:40.8 and Jack Suter took 19th with a 17:49.3. In the second division, Arcanum took third place and Franklin Monroe took fifth place. For Arcanum, Malachi Wright took 17th with a time of 18:18.0 and Clark Lemons took 18th with a 18:20.5. Micah Arbogast took 21st with a time of 18:22.7. For Franklin Monroe, Sam Haney took 11th with a time of 18:01.5 and Charlie Stull took 23rd with a 18:34.8. For Tri-Village, Brady Beisner took 42nd with a time of 20:24.8 and Chris Brinley took 50th with a time of 21:02.1.

For the girls in the first division, Greenville took fifth place. Meredith Hunt took 25th with a time of 21:51.4 and Ava Glass took 28th with a time of 22:12.8. In the second division, Arcanum took fourth place and Franklin Monroe took fifth place. For Arcanum, Ella Warren took third with a time of 21:40.0 and Brynn Byers took 11th with a time of 22:32.2. For Franklin Monroe, Stella Fugate took 12th with a time of 22:45.5 and Hannah Wolfe took 14th with a 22:59.7. Zilah Strayer took 53rd with a time of 28:28.0 and Grace Bergman took 60th with a time of 30:16.3.

The cross country teams will compete in their respective conference meets on Oct. 12. The MVL meet will be held at Piqua, the WOAC meet will be held at Tri-Village and the MAC meet will be held at Coldwater.
