Team places first in soil judging

VERSAILLES — On Wednesday, Sept. 25, the Versailles FFA Soil Judging Team participated in the district competition in Preble County.

Versailles FFA Rural Soil Judging Team placed 1st in the district contest out of 31 teams. Team members included Luke Kaiser, first overall; Maggie McGlinch, second overall; Adam Rauh, 15th overall; Josie Pothast, 18th overall; and Jayna Luthman, 24th overall. Additional team members are Gracie Henry, Patrick McGlinch and Gabe McGlinch. Over 225 individuals participated in the rural soil judging contest.

Additionally, Hanna Luthhman participated in the urban soil judging contest.

As part of the contest they evaluated four soil judging pits, took a written test and a test over a soil survey.
