NORTH STAR – Honor October Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating blood to help fight cancer at these upcoming Solvita blood drives in Darke County:

North Star American Legion Auxiliary community blood drive Saturday, Oct. 26 from 8 to 11 a.m. at North Star Community Center, 125 E. Star Road.

Tri-Village Rescue Services community blood drive Saturday, Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. to noon at 320 North Main St., New Madison.

Cancer and its treatment can damage blood cells causing many cancer patients to rely on regular blood and platelet transfusions to help them survive. One fourth of all blood donations in the U.S. goes to help cancer patients.

Everyone who registers to donate with Solvita Oct. 1 through Nov. 2 receives the “Fight Cancer” October Breast Cancer Awareness Month t-shirt.
