Darke County Sheriff Deputies, Arcanum Rescue, Laura Fire Department and Careflight responded to the scene.

ARCANUM — On Sept. 17, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Darke County Sheriff Deputies along with Arcanum Rescue, Laura Fire Department and Careflight were dispatched to the 9200 block of State Route 571, Arcanum, in reference to an injury accident.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2021 red Honda Goldwing being operated by Regan Bruss, 64, of Dayton, was traveling west on State Route 571, near Red River West Grove Road. Bruss failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the road striking the ditch. Bruss was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Speed is a suspected factor in the accident.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
