Political Rebuttal
I am a childless woman and I have cats. According to one of our educated political nabobs, we childless cat caregivers of the female gender are leaders of our nation. I, as a well-read voter, am sure I would be an asset amongst our national leaders, especially compared to past leaders who don’t read, can’t spell, and who think being a national leader confers the right to act independently of any rules, laws, regulations, constraints, common sense and common decency.
Maybe our ballots should contain a write-in provision for the Party of Childless Cat Women. Apparently there is a real need for what we can offer!
Oh, wait! The politico’s loyally defensive spouse says her man was only “quipping”. Oh, really? Because I read his actual quote and it did not sound like a quip to me. No, to me it sounded like the tasteless, snide, insulting remark it was intended to be. If you want to walk back the cat on that one, dear honorable civil servant, you may borrow one of mine. Be aware, though. All my cats know a rat when they smell one, and won’t hesitate to bite!
