Democratic & Independent Women meet

GREENVILLE — Darke County Democratic & Independent Women will meet Oct. 16, 7 p.m., at Shawnee Prairie Nature Center, 4267 St. Rt. 502, Greenville. The evening will feature a speaker and more postcard writing. Just a reminder, Postcards to Swing States need to be mailed by Oct. 15. However, if you would like help finishing yours, please bring them to this meeting. This will be the last official meeting before the election, so bring a friend, your energy and a non-perishable item for the FISH Food Pantry.

Stelvideo Soup Supper

GREENVILLE — Stelvideo Christian Church will hold a Soup Supper on Saturday, Oct. 19, 5-7 p.m. The menu includes ham and bean, cheese burger, chili, vegetable, chicken noodle, sandwiches, pies, and punch/coffee. The cost is a donation. Carryout is available. Everyone is welcome.

College, Career and Military Fair

VERSAILLES — Save the date and make plans to attend the seventh annual College, Career and Military Fair sponsored by Versailles FFA and High School Guidance Counselor Hollie Ahrens on Monday, Nov. 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. This College Fair will be free and open to grades nine through 12 along with the students’ parents.

Hydrant flushing in Ansonia

ANSONIA — The Village of Ansonia Utility Department will be flushing all fire hydrants in the village’s distribution system. Flushing of hydrants begins on Oct. 15-18. Hydrant flushing continues on Monday, Oct. 21 through Thursday, Oct. 24. Flushing is necessary to remove iron accumulations from the water mains. Customers may experience periods of rusty water or water discoloration during this period. All customers are recommended to allow 24 hours before washing clothes. You may also want to check your water before you start washing.
